Delta Park Powwow 2024
Over the weekend of June 14th, 2024, The Native American Rehabilitation Association of the Northwest and several other sponsoring organizations and individuals participated in the Delta Park Powwow. This annual event is hosted by the Bow & Arrow Culture Club, the oldest Native non-profit in Oregon. This Gathering seeks to unite and celebrate the Native American community in the Portland area. Several Native American dancers, drum groups and artists traveled from across the country to attend. The event featured cultural celebrations, art, and Native American drumming and singing. In 2024, the event boasted numbers as high as 15,000, which has grown since 1986 when Bow & Arrow first began coordination of the celebration.
Each of NARA NW’s programs were represented at the park grounds; the Breast and Cervical Cancer Program offered scheduling assistance for hard-to-find services; the Wellness Center administered screenings directly to our community; Recruitment offered information on our careers at NARA NW; representatives from Medical Assistants, to HR Business Partners, to Residential Assistants, and Maintenance Specialists attended the event and, with the helpful coordination of SandeBea Allman, the Chief Community Engagement and Development, executed our goal: to reach as many people as possible. The community at NARA NW invites you to attend the New Year Eve Sobriety Powwow coming up at the end of the year.
